California fast-food workers to make $20/hr

"Starting April 1, 2024, the minimum wage for the state's 500,000 fast-food workers will increase to $20 per hour. The average hourly wage in 2022 was $16.21."
I got blurb that said McDonald's would pay 23 or 24 per hour (accidentally deleted that and couldn't find it again--but I know it was 23 or 24.)

Good for them!!

That blurb about 23 or 24 per hour is likely true. Minimum wage in California has been $15/hr for a couple of years now. In-N-Out Burger has posters where they offer $19/hr. They'll probably be hiring at $25 or $26/hr

Does anyone know if this law will be struck down? Has it been allowed anywhere else? It seems odd that one employer has to pay a higher "minimum wage" than another employer.
