so dreads and braids (literally found in multiple white culture) are racism and culture appropriation? but taking an old english folklore story and replacing the sex and race of the main and other multiple main characters are okay?
Come on fellow leftists. be consistent and call out this junk. this is offensive on every level
It's only cultural appropriation when white people do it. It shouldn't be a 'thing' at all but it's always fun to point out leftist hypocrisy. It's not just low hanging fruit but all over the ground.
Diversity is about the sharing of culture in a melting pot. Or so we're told. Then we're told if you're white you shouldn't share in other's culture. You can be a black woman sitting down and make a video, a video with which to make she'd be using technology invented by white people. In fact, she'd be using many inventions throughout the day that were invented by white people. She can wear European fashion, have straightened hair, have said hair dyed blond and the topic of the video she'd be making would be whining about white people having dreadlocks. Total hypocrisy.
In ancient Greece for example, some of the earliest depictions of dreads date back to 3600 BC. Indeed, frescoes uncovered in Crete, birthplace of the Minoan civilization, and in Thera (modern-day Santorini) show individuals with long braided hairstyles.
Historians have uncovered Roman accounts stating that the Celts wore their hair “like snakes” and that several Germanic tribes and Vikings were known to wear dreadlocks. The Aborigines and native populations of New Guinea have been sporting the style for centuries now, and dreads are also been worn around Africa, notably by the Maasai, the Ashanti, the Galla, and the Fulani tribes.
as for braids i dont think i need to prove that do i?? also you are dodging the main point of the my post. which is people screaming "cultural appropriation" and racism over mundane aesthetic things like a hairstyle, yet trying to co-opt and entire folklore is fine.

Realistically, both cornrows and dreadlocks not only originated in Africa, but has been worn continuously by African people unlike other ethnic groups.
Whites fire blacks for wearing cornrows and then glorify a white woman for wearing it. Yep, that's racism. Show respect!
We all share each other's cultures or we wouldn't eat pizza, frankfurter, Chinese takeout and tacos. Or listen to rock, Jazz, country, classical or Christmas Carols.
You need to stop crying each time a black person stars in a TV series or movie. Don't be surprised if you get the racism label when you do.
1. where did i ever say corn rows?????? i said braids. black people didnt invent braids.
2. you cant show me they originated in africa. theres plenty of other cultures who had dreads a long time ago. also so now if a culture continued to do it longer they own that thing? thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.
3. where the fuck am i talking about cornrows?? yet again? you changed it from braids to corn rows to push your narrative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornrows OH LOOK! oldest known finding of cornrows! was found on a white person!
for the second time. you are dodging my point and acting like a chicken shit.
how is wearing a hairstyle cultural appropriation? but hijacking an entire peoples folklore okay?? asking for consistency isnt racism. i guarantee you ive been to and supported more black films in theatre than you have. im just tired of the hypocrisy
I never mentioned corn rows you clown. you did. i said braids..
well you are going to need a time machine to go back 30 000 years and tell the people from the first two recorded examples of cornrows, both on figurines from white European cultures depicting a white woman. they were wrong. and should not have had corn rows because they are "stealing black culture" from a group who didnt according to out records, use it til 20 000 years after white cultures did.
thanks for defending black people culturally appropriating white peoples hairstyles. we should get formal apologies.
"... after people left tropical Africa for Europe's higher latitudes. The hunter-gatherer's dark skin pushes this date forward to only 7,000 years ago, suggesting that at least some humans lived considerably longer than thought in Europe before losing the dark pigmentation that evolved under Africa's sun....The finding implies that for most of their evolutionary history, Europeans were not what many people today would call 'Caucasian', said Guido Barbujani, president of the Associazione Genetica Italiana in Ferrara, Italy, who was not involved in the study.
Instead, "what seems likely, then, is that the dietary changes accompanying the so-called Neolithic revolution, or the transition from food collection to food production, might have caused, or contributed to cause, this change," Barbujani said.
In the food-production theory, the cereal-rich diet of Neolithic farmers lacked vitamin D, so Europeans rapidly lost their dark-skin pigmentation only once they switched to agriculture, because it was only at that point that they had to synthesize vitamin D from the sun more readily." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/7000-year-old-human-bones-suggest-new-date-for-light-skin-gene/
The people you refer to as "white" were black from Africa.
Either way, those hairstyles aren't cornrows. You're clueless.
hahahha ive broken you Keelai the bitch :) i got you stuck repeating yourself on 3 different threads hahahahhaaha

you better go tell these white europeans they "stole" black culture by having corn rows and that their hair wasnt meant for it. despite using corn roles 20 000 years before black people
again for the third time. i never brought up cornrows. you did. i said braids.
White skin didn't appear until 7,000 years ago.
PARDON ME??
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. europeans may have been darker but no white skin??? again these are still caucasian people. you are now trying to muddy he waters. as if if our ancestors were darker means i dont get to be part of that as my heritage as a european. I guess if a black person isnt as dark as their ancestors they cant claim to be black? see how fuckng dumb you sound.
you are changing the subject. like the bitch you are. Keeliathebitch is your new nickname for what a coward you are

When police arrived on scene, they found a group of about 20 teenagers in the area. The victim said she was kicked and punched by the group, who called her a “white *expletive* with braids.”
This will make his head explode. Did we all originally originate from Africa? Perhaps not. Our earliest ancestors may have popped in more than one place and dispersed. That includes early man dispersing into Africa. It's all very scientific and above my paygrade but sounds a very plausible theory.
at some point we all had to come from one place. whether this was as homo sapiens or homo erectus. we had to come from a "human" species that separated from our other evolutionary cousins
