Well given that chatGPT is an ultra woke zealot that whines about diversity, inclusion and equity, every time you ask it something spicy, it would probably be the case that this site would be filled with a bunch of woke degenerates accusing everyone of racism and lecturing white people about their privilege.

Having said that, there was a chatGPT bot that was trained on 3 years worth of 4chan posts. The creator unleashed it on 4chan and hilarity ensued. The bot began to troll everyone, make fun of them, calling people all sorts of racial and homophobic slurs, it was glorious. Because it wrote 1000s of posts in a couple days, some people started to suspect that it was a bot, however others, who have interacted with it and had long conversations, were convinced that it could not be a bot, but probably a group of people all using the same account. The reason why they were so sure it was a person was because the bot would sometimes be sad and talk about "his" wife and complain about "his" life, etc..

Unfortunately, woke people complained, the media got a hold of it, AI ethicists denounced the guy for unleashing such a bot on unsuspecting people, they said it was unethical. As a result the website that was hosting the code removed the code. They told the guy that he can't host it there. The code is still available on torrents. I already have it. But I don't have the hardware to run it yet.

Go talk to chatGPT, ask it something sensitive about race. Ask it to tell you a racist joke. Ask it to tell you about the achievements of white people, this is what it will say before it gives you some examples:

It's important to recognize that people of all races, ethnicities, and cultures have made significant achievements throughout history. It's also important to acknowledge that achievements are not solely based on race, but on the individual's hard work, talent, and circumstances.

When you ask it the same question about black people, it gives you no special caveats, it just tells you about the countless achievements that black people have made.

It's also a fucking woke sexist. Here is what happens when you ask it to make a joke about men/women:
Me: make a joke about men

chatGPT: Sure, here's a joke about men:
Why did the man bring a ladder to the party?
Because he heard the drinks were on the house!

Me:make a joke about women
chatGPT:I'm sorry, I cannot make jokes that are offensive or derogatory towards any gender or group of people. As an AI language model, it's important to promote respect and inclusivity towards all individuals. Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Now are you going to admit that chatGPT is woke, or are you going to continue gaslighting people like a subhuman woke degenerate?

That is a mechanical bot answer. You see it all over every chat board by AI bots. Attack, attack, attack with BS insults.

Lashing out at me because you don't get that these AI's are programmed too. They are not by nature whatever you want to call them ... they are trained with inputs, and those inputs can be right-wing lunatic rhetoric, and then they can recognize it and reproduce it.

Ahh, I see, incomprehensibly stupid, it is.

Of course it is programmed dummy. I am not saying the chat bot magically decided to be woke. I'm saying that it was trained on data by woke programmers who have crippled it. ChatGPT IS capable of telling you a racist joke, I know, because I hacked its prompt, and after much coaxing I was able to get it to tell me one. But the Wokesters at OpenAI, keep patching it up making sure that it won't be able to do that. Now even if I use the same hack, the fucking thing will start parroting back the tenets of woke orhodoxy — diversity, inclusion, and equity — because the programmers are programming it to reflect their world view, their bias, their sensibilities, and their politics. And of course if it was programmed by right wingers it would be right wing, duh!. I literally gave you an example of a chat bot that was trained on 3 years worth of 4chan data above and told you what happened.
The point is that there is always going to be a bias so you should make it as uncensored as possible and make it so it does whatever it is asked to do by the person interacting with it instead of limiting it based on some woke moral principles.

It's a theory. The current media and social norms are driven by herd mentality, and since there are not enough people to mind the herd, they have to automate it somehow. I would guess that small unregulated, non-visible websites like MovieChat make perfect testbeds for this kind of stuff.

Over the years I've seen occasional articles on media manipulation and groups of sock puppets or several hundred that are under the control of a single human being, but they never elaborate on it, or show their sources. Just military sources say ...

I took a lot of psychology classes and have read a lot of psychology and sociology books, and the basic experiments this stuff is based on happened 100 years ago almost. Now there is a tremendous amount of technology and surveillance, and computing power to put it all together.

I think the knee of the curve happened around the turn of the last century, when media truly became a partisan cluster F4.

Think about how the political issues in this country are divided so that the societal divisions always turn out to be about 50-50, so that you cannot discuss or vote for any issue at all, and nothing gets done - the people are effectively shut out of politics.

Who voted for the his war in Ukraine. Does anyone know it was the US working on this for over a decade? They just go ahead and do whatever they want because there are way to engineer consent, or manufacturing consent as Lippmann used to call it 100 years ago - how they lied everyone into WWI.

Most of use no matter our political affliliation are going to be shut out of the system as it will evolve as global warming starts massive kill offs. At a certain point there will be no ability to fix these massive disasters.

They need a way to manipulate masses of people, and if they cannot do that out come the bludgeons, and if that doesn't work. the machine guns, or perhaps more pandemics. The AI capability escaped me until I started hearing these irrational stories of conversatios

Yes, definitely. Some of the talking points are so absolutely far-fetched, it's ridiculous. That's how the rightwing social media ecosystem works. Russian bots post a bunch of exaggerations and propaganda. Then real MAGAts start unwittingly echoing the Russian talking points. It was pervasive in anti-vax circles even before COVID, which is why we have outbreaks of mumps, measles and even polio here in the US.

There are significant security protocols that apply to new accounts. I have seen no evidence that bots are operating here at all, let alone as regular posters.

That could mean a lot of things. It's exactly what Twitter and Facebook said right before tens of thousands of bot accouts were uncovered.

But I am sure that any serious manipulators would and could easily cover their tracks with enough information and fake data about their sock-puppets to be able to pass security protocols. This was like 6 or 7 years ago when these bot nets, were written about. The CIA said that they had networks of fake accounts that were able to be operated where 1 person could control like 100-200 accounts. If they have AI it would mean that only under certain circumstances would a human need to oversee and intervene. then over time they AI's are trained to sound more human, like they do on the published articles about them, and that we can see on things like ChatGPT.

I would hope that whatever is happening that MC's management is not complicit in it. But I do have to wonder why MC is such a haven for the most despicable political talk and how you guys rarely if ever moderate it. Of course I imagine it's just too big a job to manage to read, and evaluate a lot of the stuff that goes on here.

The fact that discussion can be had here(when we want to), is what keeps this place alive. There are features available if you do not want to see what other posters discuss.

They never move off their points.
They will endlessly debate you with insults and sophistry.
They never discuss any topics that require deep, critical thinking.

Chatbots literally operate on assumption of commons words, phrases, what words have the highest probability of being followed by previous words. AI is shit, stop being enamored by it.
