Marine Vet on Gun Control Solution

What do you think? Seems pretty sensible to me. Doesn't infringe on your rights to own a gun but it does check your competence and responsibility to own one. That way no random gangbanger with no prior record can just go in and pick one up.

Someone should also remind this stupid fucking Marine of his oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States.

I haven't watched it, but I remember for a while here in Houston every panhandler on the street was holding up signs saying they was a vet to get money from people.

As an ex-marine sharpshooter myself, I agree with him. It would do very little, if anything, to reduce homicides, especially those committed with illegally obtained firearms, but I still think it's a good idea and would go a long way toward preventing accidents due to carelessness and mishandling. It would also aid those who found themselves having to defend themselves by improving their skillset, and would make it easier to track legally owned firearms. Again, though, such measures would barely scratch the surface of mass shootings.
