A Democrat politician's idea was rejected that exemptions be made to the new Florida anti-abortion bill regarding those who have been sexually assulted. I understand that abortion is looked down upon by very many, but why are politicians lately so strict to the point of not exempting rape, as if they don't care a psychopath made a woman pregnant by raping her? It's as if they are saying it's her fault for letting the psycho do it.
shareI don't understand why they dropped the exceptions for rape and incest. These laws will hurt poor people who can't go out of state for an abortion. Some of these bills are allowing the families of the rapist to sue the mother to prevent an abortion or to gain custody. I pasted below the thread about this from the other day.

I think the theory is that once any human life comes into existence it is a sacred innocent life and is protected by morality and should be by the law.
There is a certain logic to that, but I think it is absurd to the point of inhumanity to think that way.
Practically some women do not want to have children, or cannot afford children, or would not be good parents, or ... all kinds of reasons, and they should have the right to terminate their pregnancy if they want.
Clearly the earlier the better, and the less often the better, and the safer the better, but this disgusting intrusion of the Republican party into the realm of abortion law is truly disgusting.
Maybe Republicans cannot breed any other way but through rape.
If they have to interfere with women's bodies it would be more reasonable to have universal health care and mandate that every women have a pregnancy test every month so they can catch an unwanted pregnancy and terminate it as early as possible.
Republicans are disgusting ... on purpose ... they spend their whole lives trying to provoke disgust because they have no ideas on how to make life in America better .... because they don't want to.
