2 years house arrest for killing someone with his bare hands.

I was gonna voice my disdain until I read:
but did take into account Cook's abusive behavior, "very troublesome criminal history" and prison time, which they said made him an "unsympathetic victim."

Court records show that Cook was a registered sex offender.

According to an autopsy, Cook suffered a skull fracture and brain contusions from the fall.

Fuck'm. All's well that ended well imo.

George Floyd had a criminal history. So did the guys Rittenhouse shot. Ahmad Aubrey too.

None of this is relevant.

He will end up in jail eventually. Or dead.

Punching someone is not the same as intentionally killing them. He got house arrest not because of his reaction to the n-word, but because the punch he threw did not meet the criteria of "deadly force."

You can whine about people punching others over words, but if you call someone's mother a whore to their face, you should expect to get punched.

Getting rid of that is some left-wing fantasy world, not the one we live in.

reply

Oh, he didn't mean to kill him?

Fuck off, partisan trash.

reply

A punch is attempted murder?

Fuck off, doofus.

I agree that the guy should have spent some time behind bars but he at least has a felony battery charge on his record. A twenty-seven-year-old should not hit a seventy-seven-year-old or even a middle-aged dude. Some of the old farts start babbling nonsense when they get close to dementia or other health issues. One punch kills are not uncommon and I know a lot of people suffer lifelong disabilities due to falls on pavement. I don't have any sympathy for "unarmed men" who resist arrest since a cop could crack their skull if they fall during a struggle.
