#2 House Republican refuses to say whether or not 2020 election was stolen from Trump

And why would he? This is the Republican game plan for 2024. Keep repeating the Big Lie.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise on Sunday repeatedly refused to give a straight answer to the question of whether the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” from Donald Trump. Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace gave Scalise multiple chances during an interview Sunday to dismiss talk that there was something fundamentally wrong with the election. He refused every time. “There are irregularities in all elections,” Wallace said. “Do you think the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump and in continuing to make that charge, not having states do election reform, but specifically making this charge that the election was stolen, do you think that that hurts, undermines American democracy?”

Faced with that direct question, Scalise avoided giving a straight answer. “Chris, I’ve been very clear from the beginning,” Scalise said. “If you look at a number of states, they didn’t follow their state-passed laws that govern the election for president. That is what the United States Constitution says. They don’t say that the states determine what the rules are, they say the state legislatures determine the rules. And in a number of states, they didn’t follow those legislative rules.” Wallace went on to tell Scalise that it sure sounded like he believed the election was stolen, and the lawmaker did not refute that characterization. Wallace then asked the question one more time. “I guess the question is—last time, I promise—do you think the election was stolen or not?” Wallace asked. Scalise again refused to give a straight yes or no answer.

Shortly after the interview was aired, Rep. Liz Cheney publicly criticized Scalise for his repeated refusal to deny allegations that the election was stolen. “Millions of Americans have been sold a fraud that the election was stolen. Republicans have a duty to tell the American people that this is not true. Perpetuating the Big Lie is an attack on the core of our constitutional republic,” Cheney tweeted.

That's not how burden of proof works. Everything is untrue by default until proven to be true.

So by default, anyone saying Trump won is lying.

Now, there is a catch. If you don't know it's untrue, you could simply be mistaken, and not lying.

But even if Trump is mistaken, there are plenty republicans who know it's untrue but support it to appease Cult 45, making the "Big Lie" a legitimate lie.

He asserted that it was a lie, he made a claim so the burden of proof is on him in this case. Whether or not I said Trump won is 100 percent irrelevant in this case and a non sequitur.

The default position is you don’t know whether it was stolen or not until evidence surfaces that it’s a lie or the election was stolen . By default they are not lying because that is a separate assertion that you have to prove, I’m willing to go as far as to say that they have the burden of proof to prove the election was stolen but not being able to prove it wasn’t isn’t proof they are lying, numb nuts.

Your last sentence is yet again another baseless assertion that you have not proven so by default by your logic you are a liar, but what can I expect from the Libtard who actually thinks BLM and Antifa aren’t in control of their own actions and the death of George Floyd forced them to burn buildings, assault cops and murder people. Utterly pathetic of you.

I don't recall editing it because it was 2 days ago, but I do edit posts here and there so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that it was edited.

However, every single one of my edits happens before I see any reply to the unedited version.

Even if I was to use such a tactic as editing my post after I saw your reply to it, it's not a tactic that could yield any results. The conversation between you and me is pretty much only being witnessed by you and me. Any edits would be to convince someone else. In other words, a waste of time.

I have only seen that tactic used once on here, by "whynotwriteme" who mistakenly addressed Alexendria Occasio-Cortez as Alicia. I commented on his mistake. He edited his post, and said I made it up.

That isn't me.

If he refuses to say it's a dead cinch he thinks Trump's claims are nonsense, but is afraid to go against the horde. He doesn't want to get Cheney'ed.

Eventually there is going to need to be a reckoning, and those who pass a certain bar in terms of election suppression, tampering, rigging, insurgency, disinformation within the context of this massive conspiracy will need to be identified in a massive criminal lawsuit, charged and convicted of treason, and punished by losing their right to vote. An American citizen does not fight inside this country to destroy its government, or to sabotage it so that it does not work and instead hurts massive numbers of fellow Americans.

If Republicans can for over 20 years tamper with our elections and manipulate the outcomes undemocratically, then those who have supported those actions must be punished and do not deserve to participate in our democracy.
