No Coalition Country Removed People Before Aghan Collapse

British, French, Germans, Dutch, etc. left their citizens and allies to face danger by waiting. The U.S. isn't the only country to wait too long to evacuate.

A German interpreter said he worked for many years (2009-2018) aiding the German military when the Taliban threatened his life. Instead of evacuating him from Afghanistan, the German's fired him because they thought his presence would endanger the base. Recently, the German's continued to deny his exit. He was finally able to get out safely with the Dutch military because he had a friend.

If the Taliban can rule humanely, they shouldn't have an issue keeping power and growing support of the people. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. Most people don't change.

This was the USA's show and everyone else was following our lead.

I feel bad for the Germans (second only to USA in troops there.) They really tried to be the good guys for once and they got screwed. Gonna be a tough sell the next adventure.

Obama should have shut this down in 2009. Ditto with Guantanamo. The writing was on the wall 20 minutes after Littleboots invaded. But Obama backed "The Surge" and maybe that's what Americans wanted. The country was so fucked up in November 2008 the only thing missing was Godzilla stomping around New York and Sarah Palin still got 48% of the vote.

The U.S. set a date. Why didn't other coalition members begin moving their own people out? They have their own visa requirements, planes, etc. separate from ours.

The original mission was to destroy Al-Qaeda for revenge and future security which were achieved. The next mission was to leave behind something better for the Afghan people. That was noble even though it could've been executed better.

My only issue is that soldiers left BEFORE citizens and allies which is stupid. The news media would have everyone believe only the American government did this when all of our coalition partners have.

It was always going to end like this. Some American soldier's going to be the last man to die in The Afghanistan War.

I don't blame Biden BUT

This crap with conscripting the airplanes of United, Delta, etc. is going to increase the body count and the humiliation. Just watch those ragheads take one and threaten to murder everyone onboard unless we pay a ransom of a trillion dollars or something.

Who was that contractor who had his head sawed off on camera?

reply

1. Keep the soldiers in place in Afghanistan.

2. Expedite the visa process to get all allies out. Shutdown American civilian operations while giving a deadline for Americans to get out. Check to make sure Americans, allies and some others who wish to leave have done so.

3.THEN, have the soldiers leave.

Multiple governments did #3 first. I've spent a lifetime watching government (local, federal, both parties, foreign) doing things backwards. Kind of related to this topic - Haiti received $13 billion after the 2010 earthquake. Why are most still living in hovels? What happened to the money? Where was government (national and foreign) oversight?

reply

So you're saying our allies are all as dumb as Biden?

That's your best defence of President Alzheimer?

reply

There's no defense of President Honk Honk.

reply

Well that's not true. In Australia we have Afghans who were brought here earlier jumping up and down about bringing their cousins and their Aunts etc here right now because it's not safe for them in Afghanistan.

reply

Australia is still evacuating, too.

I'd expect some people would want to leave after a collapse. I'm not talking about them.
