"Anti-mask protesters brawled with a breast-cancer patient outside a Los Angeles hospital Thursday, with one anti-masker shoving and punching the woman.

The right-wingers swarmed Cedars-Sinai Breast Health Services to protest the hospital’s mask policy, Vice reported. Patient Kate Burns told them to go away.

“I’ve just gone through f---ing breast cancer,” Burns said in footage captured by local videographer Vishal Singh. “And you motherf------ are here.”

As the argument escalated, one protester shoved Burns and punched her multiple times. Burns noted that chemotherapy treatments for cancer often weaken a person’s immune system, leaving them more vulnerable to COVID-19. The anti-maskers didn’t seem to care.

Thursday’s protest was the second time anti-maskers rallied outside the breast cancer center in West Hollywood. One male right-winger reportedly sprayed several people with bear mace amid the back-and-forth.

Police later arrived and forced Burns and her backers to leave the scene, she said on Twitter. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has said he doesn’t support the county’s indoor mask mandate and won’t enforce it."

It appears that Burns was the aggressor. The protestors are allowed to stand on the corner with their signs but Burns approached them and told them to leave. In the video, Burns is using her larger body to push the smaller lady back so I can understand why she was pushed/punched. While I don't advocate violence, I think the smaller lady pushing back was justified self-defense since Burns was using her bigger body to push the smaller lady around. As long as the protestors aren't blocking access to the facility/roads, they are allowed to be there. Burns was the self-appointed Sheriff who was trying to break up the mob of peaceful protestors.

Standing on the corner is one thing, standing on the corner outside of the discharge doors of a hospital is an act of aggression against patients that have just been through life threatening procedures. They are fragile and any disturbance could kill them so these individuals are being direct aggressors with the intent to commit harm on those that cannot defend themselves. Protest city hall. Protest at the library but not at the outpatient exit doors of a fucking hospital.

Oh, good grief! She just didn’t go through surgery! She was the aggressor and attacked first. People are permitted to protest in a peaceful manner. So, if she had kept her damn potty mouth shut, had not attacked another woman, got into her car and left, we wouldn’t be having this back and forth with you left-wingers.

Too bad you didn’t feel the same way when your ilk was attacking innocents and burning cities last year. With you people the *only* ones who do wrong are those who have a different ideology. Why not? Your kind stopped people from going into the hospital. Your kind stopped people from going into the ER while shouting obscenities! They were peacefully protesting which is more than I can say about your comrades. They weren’t beating store owners with 2 x 4s. They weren’t pulling people out of vehicles and stomping them. They weren’t doing field goal kicks to someone’s head. How soon you forget…but we haven’t!

Your priorities are skewed. I have to throw up my hands over people who believe as you do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You appear to justify the over 20 murdered, scores assaulted, burning down businesses, blocking roads which stopped people from getting to a hospital, to a funeral, to work, etc. There is absolutely no excuse for what occurred in our cities last year and still continuing. What those thugs and hooligans did was not the solution to stop bad cops, which btw you are broad brushing all cops.
