I think I made it pretty clear in my initial response that crimes like that make me wish the perpetrators were dead. Would you be in favour of it if you were wrongly convicted of such a crime yourself though? Don’t say it never happens either. Since the introduction of DNA evidence in 92 there have been 20 death row inmates who have been exonerated in the US alone. It’s estimated that at least 4% of death row inmates are innocent. Until a more irrefutable conviction process is introduced I stand by my position that the risk of killing an innocent person outweighs the costs to keep them incarcerated until they die.
