Money is power. If the wealthy can offer some of that power to legislators, legislation will always favor the wealthy. But if we attempt to take money out of politics, the right wing claims you are removing their "speech."

Politicians should be paid their worth. Most would be broke. Either that or they would actually work for us, not their political games.

It's a good time to remind everyone that President Trump doesn't accept a paycheck (or it's maybe $1). To me that speaks volumes for him taking a very thankless job with everyone, especially the media criticizing you and lying about you with every single thing you do. What other presidents haven't taken a paycheck?

If they earned their wealth legally...then it’s theirs. Why are people so obsessed with taking someone else’s wealth simply because they don’t have it? Guess what...you didn’t earn it! So either go out and work hard and try to achieve the American Dream...or piss off.

What is your definition of "earned"?
What if I bought up all the gasoline in the world and charged $100 dollars a gallon for it? Is that "earning" $$?
What if my real estate company is complicit with the city and caters only to rich white people who will pay top dollar to be segregated from the working class hoi polloi? Is that earning $$?
If I were rump and stiffed and underpaid countless contractors and employees, is that "earning" $$?

Yes, that would be considered earning wealth. It would also make you a dickhead. However you want to play it.

Bill Gates (as warped as he may be) created Microsoft...you didn’t. He became a billionaire because he created Microsoft...you didn’t. He doesn’t owe you money because he created Microsoft. You had nothing to do with that. Is that a better analogy for you? And while you vilify the fact that he is a billionaire, the dude donates millions upon millions of dollars to charities every year, and so do many others. They’re not all evil monsters sitting in a castle twiddling their thumbs while lightning strikes in the background. Plenty are greedy assholes...but they still don’t owe us anything, and I don’t want anything from them.

So I say again...just because someone has it better than you, does NOT give you the right to demand that they give their wealth to you. They don’t owe you a damn thing. You want it, go earn it. You reek of victim mentality.

Or like I said, maybe I could come over to your house and just start taking anything I wanted for myself...just because you have it, and I want it...right?

I totally agree.
It still seems to be the only workable system though :(

thing is people just worship the money rather than use it as a method of measuring how much of a contribution someone has made.

Your posts are just one big generalization wrapped into one. How the hell do you know how everyone became rich??? Do you know every one of their stories? What if some random person who came from nothing won the lottery? Do you want to steal their money too simply because they have more than you now?

You’re like a robot the way you say this stuff.

And hey, what’s your cutoff line for who is “rich” and who isn’t? If someone has a billion dollars and someone else has $400 Million...do you want to steal money from the person who has $400 million as well? How about 2 million? That is considered a rich person to me...so i guess I should try to steal that person’s money and then ironically call them a thief???

I can’t wrap my head around this victim complex so many people have where they say “you have it...so just give it to me for nothing.”

I agree with you that a lot of companies pay poor wages, and I actually work for a company like that, and it sucks, but I’m free to go find a higher paying job if I’d like. And I’m always on the lookout for that better paying job.

Hey, if I consider you a rich capitalist, then according to you I have every right to steal from you. There is no specific amount of money, no cutoff line of who is “rich”, only a person’s perspective. So maybe I do consider you a rich capitalist. Please send me your money right now! You owe me $500 a week! These are YOUR words and rules used against you. See how that works?

There are many countries who have used socialism. You are free to move to any one of them if you’d like. I’m guessing you’ll want to come back to the USA pretty quick.
