LOL! Snopes is a partisan joke that lost all credibility years ago when they agreed with Democrats that John McCain was ineligible to run for President because he was born in Panama. Those idiots didn't even know how US citizenship works, and couldn't be bothered to spend a few minutes googling it.

When even the hacks at Snopes are disagreeing with Democrats on something it's worth noting, for the novelty if nothing else. Schumers office said it was a reference to the political price Republicans will pay for putting them on the court.

The threats did not go unnoticed by the Supreme Court, prompting a rare rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts Wednesday evening, calling Schumer's threats "irresponsible" and "dangerous."

Here is Chief Justice Roberts' statement:

The liberal American Bar Association released a statement denouncing Schumer:

"Whatever one thinks about the merits of an issue before a court, there is no place for threats -- whether real or allegorical...Such comments challenge the reputation of the third, co-equal branch of our government; the independence of the judiciary; and the personal safety of judicial officers. They are never acceptable."

Schumer tried to backpedal and lie about what he said like a weasel but McConnell and others easily debunked his spin....because the video itself does.

I read the quote and honestly don't think that can be proven as a physical threat of violence. "Pay the price" could mean that there are repercussions (in the judical sense of setting precident). I have no problem with the secret service being notified being that is their responsiblity, but if we go down the partisan slippery slope of parsing words and spinning them to mean what we want them to mean politically, then that could be the beginning of free speech infringement. Republicans, democrats and independents have all said things that could be interpreted as threats of violence, but until you actually say the words to incite violence, I don't think there is plausibility to do more than just be on alert. Chuck Schumer is not going to be removed and shouldn't be.

These Dems have been emboldened by lack of prosecution, reprimand, or even a rebuke. The strong words from Justice Roberts are a rebuke, but I think Chuckie respects Roberts about as much as he respects Kavanaugh and Gorsuch. His peers in the Senate need to mount a strong response.

He didn't even give an apology. He gave excuses and denied he said anything wrong. Just that his choice of words weren't the best.

Some action needs to be taken. This is why they keep doing what they do. There's no consequences. Ever since Trump was sworn in, people were getting away with threats such as "blowing up the White House" with no repercussions. Madonna's threat should have been taken seriously. Johnny Depp, Snoop Dog, Kathy Griffin, etc. They just get away with everything.
