Fired at Syria base.

reply

Well, what do you know? Turns out that Trump is the same piece of shit as Hillary. Like moronic twins.

Good. Kill em all.

60 would have been better.

reply

My high school math tells me that would be one more.

😎

reply

I believe you could be correct.

>>>> 60 would have been better.<<<<

It ended up being 60. Only one fell short and into the ocean.

RT reports two civilians killed in the attack.

Update: 14 killed, 9 civilians among them.

reply

The report I saw listed the casualties at 75.

😎

reply

Perhaps the number of all casualties was 75, but number of civilians killed was 9. This was just confirmed again on RT (We're talking here about american attack on the base, right? That's the title of the thread)

reply

Yes. Btw what is RT?

😎

reply

Rotten Tomatoes

reply

Doh! I should have known that.

In the first place, how do you know that isn't propaganda? Such as Syria declaring the strike as " an atrocity " and Russia as " the U.S. crossing a red line ." Does the ' pot calling the kettle black ' not come to mind here ?

Secondly, if there were civilian casualties, maybe it's because they were not forewarned and evacuated like the military personnel and were set up to be propaganda tools. Roughly about one half million citizens have been slaughtered by Assad since this civil war erupted. Do you really think at this stage, 9 more matter to him ?

reply

It seems that Russia saying: "US crossed a red line" is a propaganda itself. Apparently, Russia never said that.

So many fake news around, we have to be extra careful to make judgements.

Russia and Iran say U.S. 'crossed red lines' with strike on Syrian air base

Its only fake news if you don't know about it.

reply

Thank you !

reply

You bet! The internet is a wonderful place sometimes.

reply

As far as I know, the source for this was an "unnamed official" (typical). Reuters and the others reported that story as if it was god given truth. But Kremlin never confirmed it. More fake news. Read here.

reply

[deleted]

Yeah It's "trumpism". Before he invented the term "fake news" it was called propaganda.

reply

Actually, it's one of those internet/media expressions that caught on; he latched onto it and used it to his advantage.

reply

Ah, okay. I've never heard it before he started using it.

reply

So, you just admitted that you like to perpetuate terms you're misinformed about. That speaks volumes.

reply

Lol, what's the big deal about who invented the term "fake news"? That's trivial.

reply

No, it's not. It clearly indicates your hypocrisy of something you claim to be opposed to yet espousing simultaneously.

You got backed into a corner so you have to resort to the cheap ploy of attempted ridicule as a defense.

reply

So, if I'm not familiar with who exactly invented the term "fake news", I'm not allowed to express my opinion on which news are fake and which are not.
That's an approach to debating I've never seen before.

reply

Well, then you don't know actual debate, which is supposedly based on factual knowledge.

reply

Important thing is that Trump popularized it, and now he owns it.

Now you tell me who invented the term "fake news", and I'll learn something today.

reply

Important thing is that you perpetuated that lie, which makes you guilty of propaganda, fake news.

reply

Okay, let's see who first used the term "fake news".

According to Telegraph, it was Trump. I don't care if someone on some obscure internet forum used it before Trump did, cause the important thing is who first used it publicly.

Here's what Telegraph says about it:

What is fake news? Its origins and how it grew in 2016

"It was at Donald Trump’s first press conference as President-elect when the term "fake news" broke out of media discussions and into the mainstream. "You are fake news!" he pointed at CNN’s Jim Acosta while refusing to listen to his question."

If you accuse me of propaganda, then you have to tell me exactly who used it first before Trump, and where. Otherwise, you're just bluffing.

P.S. The only reason we are even talking about "fake news" is because Trump talks like a fifth-grader. fake news, bad hombres, and such... he talks to public like he'd talk to Barron.

I wouldn't believe any news that comes from a website called Russia Insider and is based in Moscow. For all we know this could be state controlled media.

reply

Oh, you mean unlike american media? I've never in my life seen so much fake news and propaganda as recently coming from American media. They all push only one side of the story. Fox News' Tucker is an exception and CNN's Smerconish is somewhat objective. Other journalists are horrible.

reply

Unfortunately we are living in the age of hearsay, propaganda and rumors. MSNBC and Fox News are both guilty of this. I do my best to avoid any news outlet because they will only report what they want you to hear. The age of objective journalism ended many years ago.

reply

I agree. They are not objective journalists anymore, they are like salespeople, selling the agenda their boss ordered them to sell.

On the internet you can also read all kinds of silly stories. Right now the popular one is that McCain ordered the gas attack. It's spreading like wild fire. (one ex CIA guy is spreading it, claiming it comes from CIA sources - Brennan, McCain and McMaster ordered it, he says)

reply

Ole McCain! Thats a good one. Its so ridiculous these days, I can't believe that people honestly believe that only one news organization tells the truth.

reply

With the legendary Walter Cronkite !

reply

If you really watch Tucker's interviews, you will see they follow a very predictable pattern. He's also operating from a specific agenda.

reply

I like that he invites all kinds of guests that others wouldn't. For instance, recently he invited a guy (David Horowitz) and they were talking about how to stop the murders (probably in Syria. That was some time ago, I don't remember what was it exactly about.) But Horowitz said "You think America is so innocent? Kennedy ordered assassination of Ngo Diem, president of South Vietnam" and Tucker let him say it without any challenge.

reply

Yes, definitely a mixed bag.

reply

Possible interesting news: (not confirmed yet)

American coalition planes bombed the city of Deir Ezzor, hitting ISIS positions. Unfortunately, they also hit the chemical weapons depot, and civilians were killed by chemicals. Source: Almasdar news

So, the same situation as a few days ago, only reversed. This time the other side hit the chemical depot.

British journal Independent published the news, but it was taken down minutes later, subtituted by an article written by the same guy who published the first news, Tom Batchelor. But people noticed the first article.

We'll see what happens now. The plot thickens.
