Does fanservice bother you?

And when I say fanservice, I'm referring to things such as gratuitous panty shots and unnatural breast physics (which seems to get more and more outrageous -- look no further than Konosuba for a recent example). I'm curious to get some opinions. I've seen some people commenting on the overabundance of it in anime these days.

Personally, I really don't care if the show itself is good and the characters a) are self-aware of how silly the situations are (again, Konosuba is a good example of this), and/or b) the writing is strong enough to make the characters fully three-dimensional to the point where the fanservice is something that is entirely secondary.

Chances are, if the characters and the writing aren't good, I'm not going to keep watching it anyway, so overall, it doesn't affect me much. I will say that it does seem out of place in a lot of shows, though, and it's not a necessary thing.

I was already uncomfortable with Gate doing it, then they married off a twelve year old. So I dropped it.

I haven't watched that one yet, but the fantasy genre is usually one where it does feel way more out of place. Last season they aired a show called Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. The show was often quite serious in tone and beautifully animated, with backgrounds straight out of a watercolour painting, and then this suddenly happens:

 Doesn't really fit with what they had been trying to establish up to that point.

I wished we could go back to the times of Tenchi, but I guess we are long past that.

Lolly-love is really harmless and Gate gets away with it somehow. But it's nothing compared to Oneechan-love that seems to spiral out of control recently. A good example would be Cavalry.

Also, I'm not too bothered about the characters. You know they will show up and I guess I have built-up some kind of resistance by now. Sometimes though it really is still too much. Like the dumb blonde that loses her bra on the beach. I'm really much more bothered by the beach/scary/fireworks/festival-episodes (nothing really new though). Those filler episodes are never needed but always add to fanservice times a thousand.

Edit: right after writing this I started the next episode in Campione! and guess what, It's an 'umi' episode right off the bat, with the main girl jumping to catch a ball and her 'balloons' bouncing.

Eh, it depends. I like High School of the Dead, but sometimes it can be over-the-top and annoying--and this is coming from someone who thinks self-aware moments and fourth wall breaks are great.

I don't consider that "fanservice", rather "ecchi" anime.

I really dislike so much forced pseudo-nudity and panty shots in Ikkitôsen, my sister insisted it was a good series despite all that.
I used to read High School of the Dead manga, but again it was so much forced situations like those that I got bored, when the anime came out I wasn't interested.

I do love Ranma 1/2, though. But that's different. I don't watch modern anime, only Dragon Ball Super and One Punch Man.

Nowadays, the terms are fairly interchangeable. The only real difference is that ecchi is an actual genre, where you go in expecting those scenes, and fanservice can happen anytime across any genre.
