I have seen people post some stuff based on the movies that get a ton of upvotes, but I also see a few posts where some people shit on them. So I would love to know what the opinion of most people here is.

Before this board migrated from IMDB there was a solid community of LotR fans of the movies AND books on this very forum. Unfortunately NONE of them made it over here. I'm the only

- awesome story
- a fun, diverse set of characters
- very good acting
- amazing special-effects
- awesome action-sequences
- [mostly] realistic fighting
- [mostly] good CGI
- gorgeous and well-made costumes
- amazing makeup effects
- epic music
- memorable quotes
- memorable scenes
- funny moments
- gorgeously made sets
- amazing work on the props
- was shot in a part of the world that could truly convince you it was Middle-Earth
These movies earned every single award, acclaim, and praise given to them. So few movies can compete with the qualities of these movies, or the impact they have had on popular culture and fantasy films/tv shows/video games to this day.
