Super Mario Bros was enough to revive the entire gaming Industry which at the time video games were seen as a dying fad. Also in the early 80’s it wasn’t like today where you have a choice of only three consoles and back then there were many companies trying to have their own console to match Atari’s success.

Then Super Mario Bros came in 1985 and everyone then went to trying to make their own Side-scrolling platformer. There’s even a super rare game called The Great Giana Sisters for the Commodore 64 that’s a blatant ripoff of Super Mario Bros and Nintendo had them remove the game from stores.
