Does anybody think AGONY's Hell seems worst than DOOM's Hell?

DOOM looks a lot more fun to play.

It looks very good from a design standpoint but I wouldn't even begin to compare it to Doom. It's an entirely different type of game attempting to evoke an entirely different type of reaction. The Doom hell isn't supposed to fill people with fear, suspense, and dread because Doom is camp horror, tongue firmly planted in cheek, that wants to make you smile rather than scare you. By contrast obviously Agony is going for something more lovecraftian and dreadful.

And amusingly enough in my opinion the fact that Agony appears to largely be a walking simulator in which you walk through hell, with everything being an incredibly elaborately detailed and even colorful setpiece, and populated by characters that wander around performing largely scripted actions over and over...Agony comes across as a adult horror themed Disneyland ride.

Agony looks just stupid and corny.

Doom looks 10 times better.

New DOOM? Yeah, it does look a lot better than new DOOM's hell. But then original DOOMs had a better Hell too, and if you did their version of Hell in nice new 3D you'd probably get something more along the lines of the environments in AGONY.

Have you gone back and played the original 1993 Doom, vanilla, with no mods, any time in the last couple of years? Nostalgia aside it's hell was basically a lot of skulls in the back ground and the color red, and that was it. I love the original Doom but in terms of design it was nowhere near as creative and visually interesting as the 2016 Doom's version of Hell.

Well, that Disneyland remark is just my own witticism. One witticism I heard on the message boards under the AGONY's video is that AGONY makes DOOM look like My Little Pony. Heh.

Doom 2016's hell is fûcking boring compared to the old games, as are the reworked monster design, and even the normal environments for that matter too. If you brought the games environments before Doom 3 up to date they'd be more along the lines of Agony than the new game. That agony video that was posted is basically like a more dense version of those intestines brain whatever floors and columns you had in the originals.
