100 Best Romantic Movies

Hey everyone,

I was looking to compile a list of the 100 best romantic movies. This is what I have come up with so far:

I was hoping you all could give your opinions about the list and more importantly suggest some movies that you feel should be counted among the top 100 Romantic movies.

*Notable (notable in terms of what I've seen on many websites) omissions on my part are
1) Annie Hall
2) Breakfast at TIffany's

Also, please feel free to suggest non-English movies as well.

Nice list.

I see you already have 100 films, so I don't know if you're still looking for more. Somebody suggested The Thomas Crown Affair. I would second the Steve McQueen/ Faye Dunaway film from 1968 as a great romantic film. The biggest omission on your list, for me, is Doctor Zhivago (unless I missed it?). Love it or hate it, it's one of the greatest romantic films ever.

A few foreign language films:
Dark Eyes (1987) with the wonderful Marcello Mastroianni. Lovely lovely bittersweet romance directed by Nikita Mikhalkov
A Railway Station for Two (1983)

Here's my list of romantic films, not a "Best of Romance" list, but films I personally enjoyed. A lot of quirky fun films there too.
