Shows seen in 2016

Hi all! It is that time of year again! What shows and / or highlights did you see in 2016? I was able to meet my 10-15 quota:

1. 13 **** community theatre
2. Assassins **** college
3. A Man Of No Importance ** community
4. Cabaret **** college
5. Godspell **** community
6. 1776 **** professional
7. Little Women July **1/2 college
8. Last 5 Years * community
9. Oliver Aug ***1/2 community
10. Little Mermaid ***1/2 community
11. Follies **** professional
12. Celebration *** community
13. Fun Home ***1/2 Natl tour
14. Sweet charity (seeing in Dec) college
15. Book of Mormon (seeing in Dec) Natl Tour

Notes:
* 7 community theatre productions
* 4 college productions
* 4 professional productions (2 Natl tours)

*13 was new. Def want to direct this show someday! * 2nd time seeing Assassins. Pretty good production considering the cast and crew only had 2-3 weeks to mount the production. * Man Of no importance was a decent production, however, the show itself was slow and boring. Also a new show for me. * Carabet was excellent with a delicious female emcee. Seen several times in the past. * Godspell was the one I directed this summer (3rd time for me directing this show). Wonderful group of people. *. 1776 - first time seeing live. Excellent! * Little Women, first time seeing live. Great production values, just another boring and slow moving show... good moments, especially felt emotional during song with "Umbrella" song. Title escapes me, but I can hear the melody in my head. * Last 5 years, first time seeing live. Sadly an awful production with very poor directing decisions from an otherwise reputable company. The lead would also repeatedly touch his head wth the back of his hand. A very distracting nervous mannerism and the main thing that stuck in my head as he must have done it 1500 times! Luckily this was the only poor production I saw all year. * Oliver, seen multiple times. Delightful watching both adults and little ones, many having their first taste of music theatre! :). Little Mermaid, first time seeing live. I only went to see and support some friends who were in it. Glad I did. Fantastic! Follies, first time live. What a grand production. Blessed to have had the rare treat of seeing this show which is rarely produced due to its large opulent scale. Celebration, first time live. Strange story from the writers of the Fantasticks. This is one of those shows I will have to see again someday to catch everything. Very poetic like the Fantasticks. I would love to direct this one, but I just don't see it brining in much of an audience. * Fun Home. First time live. Got to see this one for free with friends. Pleasantly surprised that this show had something to say beyond being merely preachy and political. Great show! Another one where I would love to see again, especially in a more intimate setting next time around. * Will be seeing Sweet CHARITY in Dec again for the second time. Will report back later. *. Will be seeing Bookmof Mormon again in Dec. Many in cast from Broadway production. Will report later.

Oh, duh.... Curious Incident. I knew that and still didn't catch the error.

Thanks for your thoughts. I tried to read the book a while back in perparation, but couldn't get into it. It's written from the autistic boy's POV, with lots of rambling run-on sentences and other strange paragraph structure, and that was one reason why it wasn't grabbing me. I may try it again later.

You saw a good number of shows! 2016 was quiet for me as far as attending musicals. I saw professional productions of Beauty & the Beast and Mamma Mia and an amateur one of The Music Man and then was in a production of Beauty & the Beast :)
