In the age of Reboots

Hey all :)
We're living in a time where it feels like every other show ( and some movies, too) of the past few decades is being rebooted in some way or another. I'm curious about what everybody's thoughts on that are. Are there some you're interested in and some not? Or are you of the 'it's already been done, get some new ideas!' Thought process? Or do they appeal to the nostalgia in you and you love them?
For me personally, I guess I fall somewhere in between. I think it is cool to be able to revisit some shows, but it does irk me a little when they start to feel a little cash-grabby for my tastes. Example, I loved the Gilmore Girls Netflix special event, but found there were still a few times it felt a little too much like pandering. (And don't even get me started on that ending!!)
Though it's kind of hard to consider it a reboot, my favourite show of the last few years has been Hawaii Five 0. It's almost a completely different show and if you had no knowledge of it as an older show, you wouldn't be missing anything. If you do know the original, you're treated to little Easter eggs with characters names and even some of the locations. Not saying it's the greatest masterpiece on television, lol, but it's my current obsession.
On the other side, I can't get into Fuller House. Which makes me really sad because I grew up with the original and was the same age as Michelle and identified with DJ sooo much and well, and it was just everything. But I got to episode 3 of Fuller House and had to stop. I understand it's a fine line for the writers to walk between having the same essence of the original show and bringing something new to the table, but I felt like they fell too far on one side of it for me.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough, discuss away! :)

It seems like the reboots never last very long. Like 90210, Melrose Place, Dallas.. and I'm sure there are more. I would consider Hawaii Five 0 as a reboot, because its a show that is remade of another show. Yeah I agree that it is a fine line for the writers to walk, and they have to contend with fans who were fans of the previous series' and be watching very closely. Dynasty is having a reboot soon, and I doubt that will do very well. Yah never know though.

Since this is an old post and no one cares what I think, time for my input - aren't you lucky?

I guess I lean more toward the 'it's overdone!' side rather than the nostalgia side. But I don't mind reboots, I just think that the things being rebooted are poor choices. Like, why remake classics such as The Craft and Charmed and all the Disney live actions? Why not remake shows and films that didn't work the first time around, but would work now? Or forgotten shows that would work now? I'd like to see a live-action version of Recess, for example.
