ATM: 'Victor/Victoria' (1982)

Alright, after much waffling I've finally picked one I think should be fun for a talk or two!

Plot: A struggling female soprano finds work playing a male female impersonator, but it complicates her personal life.
Dir: Blake Edwards
Starring: Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston, Lesley Ann Warren
Themes:
Gender, music, relationships, sexuality, identity, theater, scams, etc...

I hope this is a choice that jives with most of you and provides some lively discussion. It's one of my favorite films and always puts a smile on my face by the end. Funny, I picked one from the same year as the last one, we're a bit stuck in the 80s it seems, hah!

Anywho, chat away will ya?! I'm sure as people chime in (if they do) I'll be bouncing around weighing in too. Happy watching!

I LOVE this movie!! Seen it repeatedly in the theater as a kid. There was this little 2 theater cinema that I used to go to during the day on weekends for 99¢. And because it was only 2 theaters, they played the same movies over and over. This one played 3 weekends in a row (maybe 4) and I went on Saturday and Sunday so that's 6 times I saw it just in the cinema alone. Not to mention all the showings on HBO etc. I used to know it practically word for word LOL!!

Aw, I'm glad you like it so much, it's nice to see it's a favorite of someone else too. I can't believe you saw it that many times, that's great, haha! It certainly is never a movie I tire too much of watching and it always feels like time well spent by the end 😉
