I'm currently re-watching 2017's The Mummy and I can't help but enjoy it. Same with the first 2 Freser films and Van Helsing. What's your preference when it comes to horror with sub genre?

I was heavy into Slashers for a long time, Halloween especially, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, I loved movies with lots of trashy sequels. Still do but I have moved on a bit. Psycho is great and even the sequels are fun and Peeping Tom is one of a kind

I don't love current typical horrors, what I call Wet White T-Shirt horror. The horror where the one virgin/pure-hearted character survives at the end and is, for some reason, wearing a white t-shirt that happens to be soaking wet.
I prefer horror-hybrid films. Movies that are horror+[insert genre here]. So horror/action or horror/adventure falls right into that sweet spot, where you know you'll probably have to cover your eyes a few times, but you'll be riveted or crying or laughing most of the time. Horrors with plot.
