What do you think was the worst era of filmmaking?

This is all highly opinionated, yet what was just an era of awful movies with very few good movies? I'd say 2000-2003 was pretty bad (I know LOTR came out at this time, but again, very few good movies came out, and mediocre to bad just plagued cinema)

70's and 80's are my two worst decades where I've seen a critical mass of movies (from the 40's and onward).

I thought 2002-2005 was quite bad.

Most of my adult life I used to go see at least one movie
a week. That tapered off and stopped at the turn of the
century. Now I can go months, and sometimes years without
being interested in the movies that come out, and when I am,
such as the movies "Prometheus" or "Alien: Covenant" they are
most often a huge disappointment.

When movies got too corporatized and for profit. I loved the old movies
from the pre-Code era in Hollywood, but even long after than there were
many good movies made every year, serious, without sex and violence,
though the pre-Code movie were very risque.

I think the industry became corrupt and began to get infiltrated by the
CIA/FBI and government. I'd say the most serious decline began when
the government started to blacklist people for their politics. That has
never really been resolved, and now we have a bunch of goon trolls
that flit about the net insulting and calling out anything they think is
Liberal despite the fact that the real lunacy comes from the far-right.

The far-right ruins everything.
