IMDb's King of Masked Singer (12th King Crowned)

Welcome to the 1st part of Round 1. Joining me to decide on who moves on to the next round is Judge A and Judge B. The judges will be revealed once we crowned our 1st King of Masked Singer.


For this round, we have 8 players who are masked and they each will be match-up with someone else. Only the winner gets to move on so song selection is crucial than ever.


For our 1st Match-up, we have BLUEBIRD vs. FEATHERED ORANGE. Let's see what did they send in and what the judges have to say.


Matchup #1:

Contestant: BlueBird

Song: "Are You With Me" by Lost Frequencies

Mas: Quite a short song but I do like the beats. Quite simple and catchy. Good job!

Judge A: I love the sound of his voice and I love the beat. The lyrics on the other hand are very annoying, I get it you want to dance under the mexican sky. Wish there was more lyrics to it. Decent pick

Judge B: I like the background music a lot. The voice is not bad, but not something that I like either. Sounds kind of country. I like the distortion on the voice in the middle of the song. Not bad.


vs. Contestant: Feathered Orange

Song: "Spanish Doll" by Poe

Mas: Wow, I find myself getting drawn into this. She has such a nice, haunting vocals. Definitely a song that I am glad to discover.

Judge A: I am so glad that is over. I never ever ever want to listen to that again. NOT A FAN

Judge B: I like her voice and the mood it creates. It is a good mix of voice and melody. Yep, this is good.

Matchup #2:

Contestant: Charismatic Confidante

Song: "Ride" by Twenty One Pilots

Mas: It does have a ska-kind of tone. I don't think I've heard this before. I like it though.

Judge A: This song is not my style but I like it. Good sound, good voice, decent lyrics. Even though they said I have been thinking to much a million times it is still a good pick.

Judge B: MMMMM, Sorry but not much new here. It's a mish mosh of different styles and the end result is kind of unappealing to me.


vs. Contestant: Cute Heart

Song: "Over You" by Miranda Lambert

Mas: I'm not really a fan of country song. I do actually like this though. Not too bad.

Judge A: This is more my style. I prefer the House That Built Me but this is wonderful. I love her voice. In my opinion the best female artist currently in country music. Great pick

Judge B: It's OK, still not something I like much.


Matchup #3:

Contestant: Opera Star

Song: "Mets Neidude Vahel" by Collage

Mas: This is definitely a brave choice. But surprisingly, I find myself liking this.

Judge A: Torture will not get you a good score, LOL. I knew as soon as I seen the name I would not like this. I almost had to go give the doll song more points but then the bit got a little interesting so kudos for that. Im still glad its over though.

Judge B: This is really cool. I like the funky vibe with the vocals. I want to dance!!!


vs. Contestant: Peacock Madam

Song: "America's Sweetheart" by Elle King

Mas: Is she a country artiste? Sounds a bit like it. This is really catchy though.

Judge A: I have never heard this and I LOVE IT. Thank you for introducing me to it. She has a great voice, the beat is great and the lyrics are so true. I will be adding this to my playlist after I am done judging. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Judge B: Kind of catchy, but not my thing. Too poppy for my taste.


Matchup #4:

Contestant: Self Luminous 14K

Song: "Manic Monday" by The Bangles

Mas: Going retro with this song. To be honest, this is just okay for me. Maybe cos I have been kinda impressed with the previous submissions. But with this format, you just need to be better than the next song.

Judge A: I have always enjoyed this song, I am kind of stuck in the 80s. Its a shame you had to follow the last song. Great pick

Judge B: These are the days when POP music was good and interesting. This song is so catchy and fun. Love it.


vs. Contestant: Self Luminous Mosaic

Song: "Erase Me" by Kid Cudi

Mas: I thought that this would have more rapping. I actually didn't really mind this.

Judge A: This was okay, not my favorite. I thought he was a rapper, oh nevermind there it is, that makes it a little better but not much. The song just seems to drag on and on. Okay pick


Judge B: This does nothing for me. I don't get it. Must be a song for people who drink a lot.

Contestant: Feathered Orange

Song: "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones

Mas: Norah Jones does have a nice voice and this is one of the songs that I like from her.

Judge A: This song is very pretty, she has a nice voice. Good pick

Judge B: Yes, I really like Norah Jones and this song. I did submit another Norah Jones song in another game and I was cut up by the judges. I won't be that judge. This is really nice. You win this round.

Song: "Emergency" by Icona Pop

Mas: I actually love this. A very foot-tapping number that got me grooving.

Judge A: I cant pinpoint what I like about this song but I really enjoyed it. Great pick

Judge B: I don't have much to say about this. Lots of noise. I like noise too, but this isn't my thing. Sorry. This just isn't your round.


Match-up #2:

Contestant: Opera Star

Song: "The Changing Lights" by Stacey Kent

Mas: It is a little long but I do love the vocals of this. Good job!

Judge A: I didnt think I would like this but I was shocked after I listened to it. Its very pretty and such a pretty voice. Good choice

Judge B: Wow this was really great. You won this round. It really sets a mood for me. I just love it.


vs. Contestant: Self Luminous 14K

Song: "Dream Catch Me" by Newton Faulkner

Mas: I am pleasantly surprised at the elimination for these 2 parts. It's not the usual songs and I'm loving most of these. This is another one that is nice to listen to.

Judge A: This round was harder to judge because I like all the entries. It was a very nice song. Good sound, good lyrics just. Good pick

Judge B: This video was disturbing. I didn't know that hobbits could sing. But, seriously this isn't something that I like. It didn't WOW me. Not a good round for you.
