Death of a toy

When I was a kid in the 60's, our school used to put on films for us in the auditorium as a treat. I do not know if this film was ever broadcast. I think it was a Christmas film. It's a cartoon. There is a scene where this toy (soldier?) has it's heart removed, he either had it taken or he gave it to save a life. When this happened, it turned blue, keeled over and died. Anyone ever seen this film?

Could it be The Brave Tin Soldier? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brave_Tin_Soldier_(1934_film)#/media/File:Brave_Tin_Soldier_lobby_card_2_1934.jpg

Here's another cartoon of it.

Thanks for trying, but that is not it. It's quite possible that the toy in question was not a soldier. This all takes place in a toyshop. The toymaker is very stingy. There is a man and his wife who worked for the toymaker who would sneak in at night and add paint to the toys. Because the toymaker tried to conserve on paint.

In Red Headed Baby (1931) cartoon, the soldier is initially killed by the evil spider. It's not in color. No husband/wife that adds paint to toys.
