Air Disaster Movie (SOLVED)

I think this came out in the late '70s or sometime in the 80s. It used to air on tv every once and a while in the 90s.

All I remember is when the plane is in the air, part of a side of the plain is blown/ripped away, in turn, a piece of flat metal/aluminum has struck a male passenger in the face (he's unable to pull it off of him). The plane and passengers are in complete chaos, there is one female flight attendant who scrolls through the cabin making sure everyone is safe as possible.

I believe it was a popular film, many must know the title. I'm unsure if it was a movie made-for-tv or a theatrical film.

There was the "Airport" series of movies. The 1970 version does have a guy setting off the bomb in the plane which blows open the side of the plane.

Airport 1975 has a small plane run into the front of a 747 which does blind one of the pilots (and killing the rest of the crew that can fly the plane).

Thank you! I'll check them out. "Airport" sounds familiar.

There is a scene like the one you described in Miracle Landing (made-for-TV 1990): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_Landing#Plot

You got it! It was "Miracle Landing", I so thought it was a much later film.

Sorry, I totally forgot to reply back to your comment. And, thanks for the YouTube link!
