I know I've seen it but just can't think what it was. I think it was a tv show rather than a movie if that helps?

That's from a mobile phone commercial. I distinctly remember it using a scene between a black couple and the girl's phone service is so bad she notices it dropping off and she says I'm breaking up "my signal is weak" or something like that and all the guy hears is the I'm breaking up.

You could be right as many modern commercials imp popular movie tropes and social media memes. It's like they don't even have writers anymore.

I def think it was from show and one that built up over many episodes. I have a vague recollection that the person was thinking about turning bad or doing bad things because of it (may even have been some superpower) but they end up getting it sorted when they meet up again.
