The motivation for her to cooperate was that the Lieberman character had two different depositions of corroborated victim witnesses of Maloney's conduct in the camp she was assigned. The attorney needed to analyze what the testimony was going to be, and whether or not there was corroboration thus allowing him to form effective strategy and whether or not a guilty plea in exchange for leniency was in order.
