You think everyone who doesn't like this movie is shallow? Isn't that a bit... shallow of you?
"I just want to know more about this Wiseau guy."
"I want to know about THE ARTIST, not the crap he produced."
I think the issue here is that Wiseau loves being secretive about his background. Lots of speculations out there, but hardly any facts. E.g. neither his age nor his real name are known for sure. He confirmed that he's European, but not which country he is from. There is no info about his family, or where the budget for "The Room" came from... It's even addressed in "The Disaster Artist", e.g. when they ask him how old he is, and he says 19 which is obviously a lie. So the movie stayed true to the fact that Wiseau is a bit of a mystery, and thankfully they didn't make up a random background story for him.
If there's a movie that ends with a random big ass spider showing up in the bedroom please let me know!
The mask probably didn't help either. Must have been pretty gross and sweaty underneath.
You got a point there. When I read "dead animals on a hook" recently killed farm animals came to mind. But I just read an article about how they stacked up euthanized cats and dogs from the city pound, and that it was beyond smelly.
1. I think she just temporarily lost it. Can't blame her.
2. Vegans are usually in favor of making visible how cruel humans act toward other species. The first movie does a great job in doing so.
"He said that hos actors would have to leave the house to throw up because they put real dead animals on the hooks."
Weird how people get grossed out by being next to a dead animal on a hook, but are fine with eating it. Just shows that most people have no idea how their food is made.
There's a dubbed version on YouTube. You'll find it if you look for "The Lift (1983)".
In the dubbed version I've seen he tells his wife that the lady is a journalist. The conversation takes place during dinner, their kids are at the table as well. Roughly one hour into the movie he explains "It's a misunderstanding. She's a journalist." She doesn't seem to believe him though. :D
