Pinhead should be intimidating, and it takes a man to be that. People keep saying, "You never read the book because Pinhead is a woman." No, Pinhead is not a woman in the book. The cenobites are just so scarified and messed up in the story that Frank can't distinguish their gender. There is one cenobite that is clearly a woman when Frank she's her naked and notices her pierced vagina, but that wasn't the Pinhead cenobite. I agree with you on the main girl protagonist. What is it with Hollywood always making the heroine a damn tweaker like they did in the "Evil Dead" remake. I hate tweakers. They're all over the county I live in. And she was damn fugly. I really dislike how fans of this are claiming it expands the lore when everything in this movie has been done in either the many bad sequels like "Deader" with the tweakers and drug addicts or "Hellworld" with the weird Lemarchand house and kids, or in the many comics where an evil human would lure innocents into opening the box. This movie will be forgotten about in a year. It still seems silly to do that. Why would he fear getting frisked in a little coffee shop. If he did run into danger, he'd do better with his gun on him. It'll be bad. It sounds like they let Harrison Ford make decisions on the script so it's going to be woke because he is. They did the same thing for Patrick Stewart on "Picard," and its trash. Actors aren't writers. They should have nothing to do with the script. As a kid when it came out, I loved it, but now I can't get through it. Mostly because of the terrible makeup, but the incredibly dated look of it is also a drag. No other movie has looked so dated. If you want to know what the late '70s fashion and shopping was like definitely watch this.
