Name calling now? 'Studio Plant'? Very immature. Back to the topic: I'm of the exact same mind as you. I loved the original film but this one was actually even better. Beautiful lighting, the costumes, the scenes of the development of Lincoln Center... I was smitten and I'll go again. My husband remarked that Ansel looked like a very young Marlon Brando and I can see that ... What a cast. And how fun that no one was already familiar except Rita Moreno. Getting to know each character as the film unfolded, without preconceived visions of the actors, was great. I was particularly taken with Riff's acting. I loved him. At first I thought he was all wrong. But he's such a great actor, he sold me on the character completely - hungry, passionate & angry angry angry. The dancing was so exciting. It was electric and truly a work of lasting art. I predict this movie may be a sleeper but it's going to burn for a long time.
Another woman agrees completely with you. Crushes and attention seeking are also dangerous creepy behaviors, just as intimidation and groping are.
Did you say convicted? No? Ok, then I'll go see the movie and I'll go again because I loved it and I loved the work Elgort did. He reminds me of a young Marlon Brando. Who said SAINTS ONLY need apply to act? They're actors - they're entertainers. And I do not care what happened to him when he was 20 and she was 17 unless he is proven to have been violent.
