This 50 shades crap has got to be the stupidest, most self-important, worse acted set of movies since “KISS meets the Phantom of the Park. “
100%. It was almost odd to watch a movie which celebrated American military power again. It was a bit too schmaltzy, but sure was great fun to watch.
Because, in the end, she reverted back to being Catherine Zeta Jones hanging out with her celebrity friends... screw the plot! ;)
Good explanation... but still true- the scene was unnecessary and overly conceited to think the audience would find it useful for the plot or feel in on the celebrity joke.
I agree as well. Two thing stand out to me. One, how they played the angel Gabriel... rather than make him some wondrous aberration, he is portrayed a simply a human with extremely clean robes, skin, and hair. You can imagine how the people of that era would see that as “radiant”. Second, the use of music was spot on. I especially likes the incorporation on “Coventry Carol” during the slaughter of the innocents... exactly what that medieval tune was about.
You’re right. He must have been their Kato...
Additionally, the whole way the family reacted to the kidnapping was very odd. Why was the mother-in-law (Terri Garr) so flippant about the fact her son was kidnapped... she was more interested in seeing Mary go on a date (?!). And Mary’s reaction to the fact the they brought back the suitcase? Sure... She was shocked and surprised, but wouldn’t she be more concern that the whole ransom-for-husband was aborted?
Ahah....I guess it was all part of the comic delivery.
