Thanks so much, and this is the best match so far. I had to watch some of it to make sure, but alas, Silent House is NOT the film I am chasing. FYI - I have found VERY obscure films (i.e. Reptilicus) and this damn movie is proving to be the most difficult I have ever tried to identify when I know the story but not title or people. Will finish Silent House. Not bad, so far. In the film I am after, the father is a better known actor, and the building is a mansion/almost castle, not a house.
Appreciate responses but nope, so far. The father is an expert of some kind to either evaluate, appraise, renovate, or something of the mansion in an old town. The daughter is young and attractive. No monsters. No gore I can recall, but the daughter meets a similar aged attractive woman, and the film is their relationship, which is dark and creepy and sexual at the same time. At some point the locals have a funeral procession. The father is a known actor. I don't recall the girls. The father saves his daughter from going to "death" with the ghost by pleading with her as she is at a window, apparently about to plunge to her death. Also, the father might be an artist because I think a painting or paintings on the walls are important somehow.

That's a miniseries. This is a feature film. It's killing me that I can't remember who played the father because that would nail it. The electricity between the ghost and daughter is awesome. Dad is working on the mansion. The ghost is "seducing" the daughter to "join her." Definitely made after 2010. Oh, and the ghost looks like a real person. No glowing stuff. Pretty young ladies in gowns in a scary setting.
Both the ghost and the daughter are hot, so there is a sexual tension on top of the danger and creepiness.
Thanks for trying. Signs is about aliens and the house is not an old mansion. In this movie the house is an old mansion in an old town and the father and daughter are alone in this place, and an attractive girl/woman appears and we learn that she is a ghost of some kind. The father must save the daughter from this ghost. A key scene is when the ghost draws the daughter into a lake or pond.
