Everyone is trans like in the South Park episode The Panderverse, and yes, the movie is filled with anal sex, but there are a few scenes where you don't actually see the actors bodies penetration each others buttholes, so your son can get a break from focusing on the anal sex.
The movie has a lot of plot holes. Even putting the spirit/satanic stuff aside, a lot of things just don't work out, like this one.
She's has an outstanding sense of deduction and intuition yet she leaves her fucking door open after seeing seeing someone watching her through the window. Huge plot hole.
She could have smashed the doll's head but most assuredly, you got robbed of your money for cheap jump scares caused by sudden and unnecessary sound effects.
There IS a sound of sliced flesh right after the scene of the father's close up shot, so right at the beginning of the external shot of the house with him getting out of the house.
On my absolutely stolen and not paying a cent pirated version of the movie titled When.Evil.Lurks.2023.1080p.WEB.h264-EDITH.mkv the sound is at 1:34:13.
Then why was the mother still fucked up from the car accident? This rule is inconsistent.

I see the filming location is Gloucestershire (county in South West England), but I know nothing about England locations, so it probably won't answer your question.
