I agree. He aspires to make films that are visually beautiful but make no sense. He should probably make music videos. There are plenty of directors that do this better. Terrance Mallick, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch.
I did not read the book. I only watched this movie. But, I think the ending suggests that Jerry, the police and everyone else did not, will not, discover the truth. It ends in tragedy except the serial killer was killed.
As a side note: I kind of liked the idea of the serial killer being a church pastor. I have known a few pastors and priests that were a little bit creepy. They seemed like if they were not spreading the word of god they would find some other form of mischief.
I agree with you. The main character was supposed to a damaged, dark and brooding character. I think Clooney's direction was sloppy and the music was uninspired. Was any of this picture shot in Seattle or Lake Washington? I never saw any mountains. Most of the rowing scenes looked like the same English river.
And I wish Mike Prince’s sidekick and Waggs got into more crazy and weird trouble.
I wish Axelrod would come back. I don’t find the character of Mike Prince to be believable and the actor who portrays him seems like somebody just reading lines. Paul Giamatti’s Chuck Rhodes needs a more interesting nemesis.
Sure. Maybe that would help. Maybe Axelrod could come back after he travels to Haifa and decides to become a rabbi. Season 6 is not that great.
Worst thing I have seen since COVID shut everything down. And there has been to ton of crap put out because production was closed down so they released stinkers and bombs. If I was Italian-American or Italian-Canadian I'd be offended by the awful stereotypes.
I don't understand why the change in music would offend a viewer. Its the same kind of crappy 80s mood music either way. I am not judging the music choice because I don't think it matters. I like EATB but does it matter? No. The movie is what it is either way.
I was only saying that this guy had potential to be like Orson Welles who was a monumental talent. I was just comparing the two directors because their first attempt was pretty strong.
