I agree, it was a pretty fun movie. It's been a while since I watched it but as I remember it they weren't in China for unknown reasons, they went there to steal the formula for gun powder.
As for the drummers, drums were used in times of war for communication because it was the only thing people could hear during combat.
You're right that the explosion looked like an egg in the microwave, or maybe a pizza pocket is more accurate :D But as for the size of the mess, the way I thought of it was like when you put your finger over the end of a garden hose, the water sprays out all over the place. The bomb forced all of his guts out through the various holes of his body the same way. But really I think it was for the shock/comedy factor than trying to be realistic.
I know this is 3 months late but I just finished the first season :)

so the bomb really shouldn't have made much of a mess at all unless it just caused some guts to squirt out his asshold, ears, nose, mouth or possibly eye sockets.... the shell that protected him should have been left untouched which would have probably made for a better story with them then having to find a way to get rid of the indestructible evidence left behind.

That's actually what happened. Remember they had to find a way to dispose of the indestructible skin? They locked it in a trunk and tossed it in the ocean, knowing that eventually Deep would find it but at least it would buy them some time. My real question though is what did they do with his diamond heart? That could be turned into a hell of a wedding ring :D
If you think the houses won't be plotting to get their puppets on the throne then you haven't been paying attention :) Just because King/Queen is now an elected office doesn't mean the game is over!
1. They were going into that room to seal the portal, but failed.
2. Valak (the demon nun) was free from the portal, but not able to leave the castle grounds without possessing a human; that's why the last nun hung herself.
This movie did have angelic forces helping. The initiate nun had visions (Mary points the way), and the ghost nuns told her about the history of the demon nun and how to defeat her.
I don't buy the Jason was switched theory, especially while he was locked in the closet. How did his double get into the closet? How did his double know Jason would be locked in the closet? How did they sneak Jason out of the locked closet without anyone knowing? And why would Jason join the Tunnelers and turn into a pyromaniac? And how did he learn to speak and act like a Surfacer so quickly when it took Adelaide such a long time?
The other stuff, like not wanting to eat and digging sand-tunnels at the beach sound like normal kid stuff to me, and probably written in the script as symbolism or foreshadowing.
none of them could speak beause they didn't have souls
Not true, did you forget that Red/Adelaide were switched as children? Adelaide spoke just fine despite not having a soul, and Red could barely speak at all.
I didn't really like the Ben Affleck movie very much but I think the TV show is great. I don't think the ending will frustrate you at all. The series is worth watching for Vincent D'Onofrio alone, he was born to play Kingpin.
My biggest complaint is that he doesn't wear his costume enough. I know there was some Internet whining about the costume design so maybe that's why they decided not to have him wear it so much, but I thought it looked pretty cool and I wanted to see him and a certain nemesis of his (no spoilers!) in their costumes for the big finish.
Agreed, anyone who thinks this is better than the original Mad Max is smoking crack. This movie was not only unrealistic, it was pointless.
