Nice to have you back for a chat. This is fun! :) Sorry been off the grid for a while. "Well, you're applying real world thinking to movie logic. Instaed think about IT, where loads of kids go missing every 27 years and how the Town of Derry just seems to ignore it." But that's my point, there is NO logic to parts of this movie, and it is precisely THAT ASPECT I'm griping about. I totally "Get" sci-fi and supernatural movies and all that, but for heaven's sake, they can still be made to have SOME SORT OF LOGIC!!! There needs to be continuity of "logic" between the 3 movies - in other words, they can't have things working one way in one or two, and then have things work differently in others. Tctually think thru and work out the script so that it's somewhat logical rather than being lazy and just taking the lame way out, and when writers and producers choose to take the lazy lame way out, then I gripe!! LOL I'm NOT trying to apply real world logic, I'm trying to make sense of things within the CONTEXT which THEY THEMSELVES created. And by the way, when creating a movie, you can create whatever "logic" you want, it just has to be explained/clear/understandable, and has to be CONSISTENT. It's the Plot HOLES I'm griping about. Go back to my first post and reread to understand - this little rabbit trail has gotten off topic of my original questions. I will say one thing - you have helped me understand what the movie DID NOT - I thought it was POORLY explained in the movie itself what the sequence of the movies were I did not understand movie 3 took place in between the other 2, and all within the same year. I thought it was 23 years later, etc. Where in the movie did they explain this? Would it (theoretically) make more sense now to go back and watch the movies in the order of 1, 3, and then 2? "he thing is, people in general don't believe this kind of thing is possible and as such, things like this become urban legend " (reply) People don't believe this kind of thing can happen because BUSLOADS AND TOWNS FULL OF PEOPLE DON'T GET SLAUGHTERED EVERY 23 YRS!! If dozens and dozens of people were murdered ever couple decades in the same place (county, state whatever) every couple decades, pretty soon everyone in the area would PERSONALLY KNOW OR BE RELATED TO one or more of the victims!! You don't think that would cause people to start believing SOMETHING is happening??? And be ready next time with an ARMY to figure out what's going on??? "Maybe there is a way to kill the Creeper and by having the hand they can figure it out." (reply) Yeah maybe, and maybe pigs can eat chicken shit and be able to FLY!! :) Just not buying that. If 20mm cannons and STEEL POSTS THRU THE HEAD do not even PHASE him, there's NOTHING about people having his severed hand that would pose any risk. And even if they were going to try and POSE such a thing (lame!!), they should throw us MORE OF A BONE than just that then, when making us wait TEN FREAKING YEARS in between movies!!!! HOLY SHIT, I"ll be DEAD before they explain, and will have to lay there on my death bed wondering WTF was so special about the Creeper's hand???? You sound super fun and awesome, I would LOVE to watch these movies WITH YOU sometime!! Your point about Jack the Ripper is valid, but after he stopped killing, it didn't start happening again 23 yrs later, and EVERY 23 yrs for DECADES, right?? Doesn't that make a HUGE DIFFERENCE? Remember, I'm talking about PLOTHOLES here - instances where the movie walks away from ALL LOGIC in it's storyline. There are some aspects of movies like this, where things HAVE to be outside of reality, but while this sounds a little funny, there are ways to STILL DO IT IN A SOMEWHAT LOGICAL WAY, or a way that makes sense. There are SO MANY WAYS They COULD have still done this same movie but made these things MAKE SENSE!!! But the writing is SO LAZY and sloppy it's like they just DON'T CARE, and THAT is the part that PISSES ME OFF!!!! If they want us to take the time to WATCH these, they should put forth the effort to THINK THRU THE PLOT, and make sure that at least MOST of it makes sense!!! IF DOZENS AND DOZENS (BUSLOADS and almost ENTIRE TOWNS of people) are slaughtered every 23 yrs, MORE PEOPLE WOULD BE AWARE of this by now, and it would be MORE THAN JUST "urban legend". IT's just TOO LAME, there are so many ways they could have written this to have it be more legit and logical. (4 continued)... I thought maybe they expected us to believe that this demon like creature was able to somehow effect radio transmission, as is so often the case in lots of supernatural type movies - creatures can control all sorts of things. To me, even THAT reason would have just been lame, but if it's because he was honking his HORN? Wow, totally lame. They could have come up with so much better of an idea and reason. WRIting like that just totally pisses me off, like they just get LAZY in so many parts. 5. Warning the cop with his finger so he doesn't "Have to kill her"? But if bullets are NO THREAT to him, why should he HAVE To kill her, if he doesn't "Want to"??? He clearly wants to take out anyone who is a THREAT to him, but if her bullets were no threat, than he could just walk way with her firing bullets into him and not even feel them, and just walk away like he doesn't care. That would actually have been kind of a more powerful image and statement. To warn her is as if to say it IS a threat to him. 6. Guess I missed the fact that his eye got poked out, thanks for pointing that out. 7. Just so many other things - his OLD FASHIONED vehicle that has state of the art steel spikes that come from NOWHERE, both above and below. WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? That clearly can't BEND AROUND, and there's not enough height above or below. Are they MAGIC??? But they aren't represented as something magic, otherwise it could just be a mysterious forcefield or something that cuts them in two.' Or LASERS!! How did he install them??? MAGIC?? IF the creature can just do ANYTHING magically, it just takes away so much from a storyline, like why does he have to do ANY of the things he does then, when it can all be done magically??? Did some GARAGE install for him?? C'MON, just doesn't make sense. Loved ONE, when the idea was new, and I thought it was actually pretty well done. Two was "ok", but really started to lose a lot; 3 was horrible - made too many plotholes Thanks for the reply, and for helping to clear up a few things, still a lot of it doesn't make sense to me. FIRST, I watched the 3 movies in sequence, as they came out, and I MISSED MUCH of the things you mentioned that would help to explain the CORRECT sequence of the movies. HOW WOULD SOMEONE KNOW without coming to a place like this? THere was very little in the movies themselves to help explain all that, VERY STUPID. Especially when there were YEARS in between most people watching them!! So here are things that still dont' make sense to me: 1. What do you mean Trisha writes that she will kill the creature as spring approaches? I thought you said that 23 yrs later the creature was hung up on Taggart's barn? So, how will the creature still be around when spring approaches? And are you saying that trish is now in her 40's then, since it's 23 yrs after the 1st movie when she was in her 20's? 2. You mention the handful of people who only knew about the creature when the first movie started, but those are only the ones in the MOVIE. My point (rant! lol) was about PLOTHOLES in the movie, and my point was that if EVERY 23 YRS the creature comes back and SLAUGHTERS PEOPLE, more than just a handful of people would know about him and be ready for him, wouldn't you think???? This has been going on for DECADES at the very least. 3. The Creeper is afraid people will figure out how to kill him FROM HIS SEVERED HAND, when 20mm cannons and steel posts thru his head do nothing?? Didn't they supposedly ALREADY KNOW how to kill him - wasn't that the point when they said they knew who he was, and when the people including the old lady had touched him and know UNDERSTOOD HIM? Wouldn't that already give them the info they need? 4. The Creeper's HORN is blocking out the RADIO, when the truck is HUNDREDS OF FEET AWAY from them, and the radio is RIGHT IN THE VEHICLE?? And NO ONE ELSE In the vehicle can hear the sheriff SCREAMING at them? That is REALLY LAME if that's true. totally agreed with everything. We KNOW he has a metaphysical aspect to him, they basically all but tell us he's a demon, so he's from a spirit world. But he seemed to care about getting shot by the female cop's handgun, but then a 20mm cannon has almost no effect on him, nor a steel POST thru his head? no sweat, just thought it sounded like you were describing what was supposed to happen in JC3, and after I watched it, I was like WTH, it was NOTHING LIKE that, lol. There were so many plotholes in JC3 though, made it hard to watch, and was still a bit confusing in numerous ways, which is why I came back to the chat rooms to try and understand better. well it looks like you were wrong! Trish has NO PART in the movie whatsoever until the very final scene, all of about 30 seconds. where is that explained?? How would we know it wasn't 23 yrs after the SECOND one? Days or weeks later??? How would the creature be back for a slaughter-fest if it was days or weeks later??? IT only comes out every 23 yrs, remember?
