Great. I hope you two venture off all over the world, all decades, etc. Marlon Brando Aki Kaurismaki, Ken Loach, Mike Leigh... The movies speak for themselves, and they don't really have competition. The comments lol, why is "Animals" weird? I just heard Gilmour talk about this in an interview and was saying he likes it and that it's overrated. He actually wanted "Dogs" and "Sheep" (not those titles back in 74) to be included with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" on WISH YOU WERE HERE, but Roger said it didn't fit, and Rick and Nick sided with Roger, and we got basically another albums (with Roger's new "Pigs" (Three Different Ones) My favorite band. 70s Pink Floyd was too great. Didn't really care anything outside that, except for "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" https://youtu.be/f7egJTtz10E That's the one. I read it attributed to many musicians from the 19th century That's a bullshit quote and an excuse for not being original.. He even stole that from a musician from the 1800s. "I've lost all my money on these films. They are not commercial. But I'm glad to lose it this way. To have for a souvenir of my life pictures like Umberto D. and The Bicycle Thief." - Vittorio De Sica About one per month https://youtu.be/cBGyFrHF1eU Another Brick In The Wall: Part 2 - Pink Floyd I agree. It's why I would never "advertise" that movie. Overrated. Lawrence of Arabia Dr. Zhivago Gone With The Wind Blow-Up Breathless "The Shawshank Redemption" is not a bad movie, but it's not even a Top 10 prison movie. Yeah, and already 300 replies. What a weird country. I'm not counting anyone after the 70s except for DDL, but I've only seen a couple of his movies, but his portrayal of Daniel Plainview makes him the best by default. I could never get into British actors. They never seemed natural, but I do like Albert Finney. I liked Richard Burton more for his interviews, but felt he played the same stiff in every movie. British actors sleep with intensity it seems. Won't watch a movie with Cary Grant in it. I can probably think of a lot more, although I'll probably avoid a movie if I can't stand an actor, which makes it unlikely to accurately criticize them. Nicolas Coppola -- i couldn't STAND him.. and I only saw 1 or 2 movies with him.. Just the way he talks.. Bubba is dying in "Con Air" and that nonchalant "we seem to have a situation here"... "How did he die?" - "Well, this fuck was chewing the scene and hamming it up" Yeah.. Those first two were in my Top 5 (late 90s when I got into film) but they haven't done shit in 20 years.
