Disappointing sequel to a well-made movie View all posts >

I had some of the same questions... I don't suppose they could have children; it's just one of those things. Doesn't fit the lifestyle. I suppose if they have a tolerable age gap (say 15-20 years) they can still make it work. If it is bigger than that, they may commit suicide together and re-born at the same time. I also thought Bathurst chould have just shot himself with the special bullet and ask old friend Treadway or former love Garrick to drop the chip into the Mariana Trench tied to a large stone. Since you need a new body for the memories and consciousness to return, you're unlikely to be "alive" on the chip. But even if that was the case for those on the shelf, he could have written a bespoke algorithm to shift/del contents and overwrite a couple of thousand times. After all he had no issues with the Believers as such, he just wanted to break his own cycle. Having said all that, if I had suddenly gained total recall of my previous memories at the age of 15, good luck telling my parents I want to go to Angkor Vat to find my other half. :) What I didn't get: Bathurst shot Abel with the Dethroner, otherwise he wouldn't have had his own chip in the collection. But the car blew up, so the chip should have disintegrated... That's one for CinemaSins. After Episode 6 my guess would be Rabbi runs away with the kid to protect him - as he pointed out, Satchel's not safe at home. If Rabbi ends up adopting the boy, he may as well be Mulligan from season 2 - that would suppose Loy ends up dead. So far season 4 rocks! Tense plot, quirky characters, masterful editing and the usual witty conversations; if it goes on like this, it'll be my favourite season so far. Season 1 was unbeatable due to Malvo's character; now we have the equally intense Deafy (Timothy Olyphant) who is just as menacing. The connection to other seasons is unclear - Rabbi's surname is Mulligan and agewise he could be Mike Mulligan's father from season 2, but they just don't look similar at all. (Having said that, Ethelrea does not look like his dad either.) Also, Rabbi was cursed by his father and Mike Mulligan did not look very much cursed... My problem is that in the movie as well as in seasons 1 and 2 there was a moral to it: those who went to the dark side were punished and those who behaved well were rewarded. OK, not everybody, but we could be reasonably sure that justice prevailed. Here this was turned upside down with loose ends (Juri, Meemo, Varga). Still loved it and would watch season 4 any time, but overall less satisfying. I was wondering about that too... probably just to introduce the idea of how thin the line can be between truth and lies. Based on the closing seconds of the scene the guy did murder someone called Helga. I think. We didn't actually see him die, did we? In the movie Steve Buscemi hides the money in the snow and marks it with a red ice scraper. In season 1 Oliver Platt recalls stopping at the roadside, seeing the scraper and finding the money that started his supermarket empire. Between season 1 and 2 there's the obvious connection of the Solverson family and the less obvious one of Hanzee becoming the mob boss of season 1 (killed by Malvo during his rampage). Also, the kids Hanzee saves from bullying at the playground will be Mr Numbers and Mr Wrench. The only connection to season 3 so far is Mr Wrench. View all replies >
