Season 3 did seem to have a slow start, but I'm hooked, now. I really enjoyed episode 7's throwback to season 1 (set not that far in the past - 2006).
Wyh ask why? I'm not too sure - will have to give it some more thought. Maybe it's just to underline how many questions there are.

Yesssss! The absolute futility of EVERYTHING, from the trip to LA, to the robot's wasted efforts, to the weird box. The look on Gloria's face, when she comes to the conclusion that it was all for nothing. I'm looking forward to her figuring out that there is still a very interesting mystery, here. Particularly once she catches on to the discrepancy in Ennis' age (the 1975 writer couldn't have been 80 in 2010), and starts to question why he changed his name.
I wish this board had Like buttons.
I had no idea! I couldn't believe how much she looked like Frances - now I know why! Normally, I would have gone straight to imdb to find out, but they can kiss my apple.
