I concur. I think Tyler shot Alex. In support of this theory, I can add another point: When Tyler's mom tells him that she worries that kids are mean to him, he abruptly replies something like, "Don't worry, I can defend myself". His reply sounded very ominous.
That's what I was thinking, too. I wonder whom Clay got, though... He was very shy and secretive about the whole thing, so I thought that line would be continued but it wasn't.
