Fair enough. I get what you're saying, but I honestly believe he should have been a much bigger deal than portrayed. It just doesn't seem authentic to me, otherwise 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hahaha, I feel ya! That was honestly a completely pathetic death due to his own stupidity. I think Nolan should have at least had him trip over or something! I love it when people comment on how 'dumb' a character is because of their words and actions, and hypothesise on what they had to do off screen in order for any specific scene to play out, etc, all the while seemingly forgetting that THESE ARE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS MADE UP BY A WRITER! If you want to actually sound smart then maybe direct your frustration and disdain towards the living people who created the thing you're venting about. That shouldn't matter. He helped save humanity!! If I came into contact with the person who came back from a mission they started 124(?) years ago to help save humanity, and just happens to be my close relative, I'd lose my shit! I really think they should have included a scene(s) where he's interacting with them with love and tears in his eyes. He was important in every context. Without him, Murph wouldn't have been able to save humanity. I know that the world didn't believe her when she said that he helped her and that he was her 'ghost', etc, but he was one of the people who went on the mission to save humanity and actually came back. That, combined with the fact that that person is their relative, yeah, I think there should have been some excitement and recognition! Yeah, exactly what I thought. However, that's what is said in the film, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Are you sure about that? I accidentally saw The Thing (the original) when I was about 4 years old. It traumatised me so much that I had to see a child psychologist. I also developed a phobia of aliens and monsters until I eventually got over it in my late 20's. Children should absolutely be stopped from watching 'any movie'. I was kinda hoping it was all BS, then when they realised it, I thought it would be funny if Tony was like "Well, my dear. It seems as though we've been taken for a ride. Please accept our sincerest apologies. Now, shall we all get cleaned up and start afresh?" and basically act as though nothing happened; ignore the elephant in the room! 🤣🤣 Hydrochloric acid. Even on a call out regarding someone acting suspicious or suspicious circumstances, isn't it caution to not go alone? Being on the beat alone is one thing, but going alone to a potentially dangerous situation is another. I had completely forgotten about her watch. Good point! But then the movie would have been over much quicker. I think they should have put in a scene where he smashes the watch or even show that the watch died after being in the water 🤷🏻‍♀️. I actually rolled my eyes as soon as Richard grabbed the towing cable. How many times has this been done?! I also rolled my eyes when I realised the cop was alone. In reality, cops are always with a partner. In all the movies where a cop gets jacked right before saving the victim, if they had their partners with them, all those victims would have been saved! It's so cliche! No, it's a fact for YOU/HIM in your world. You don't speak for every human on the planet. The blind guy said that he, himself didn't care about the colour of the skin. He wasn't speaking for anyone else. Presumably, the grandparents' bodies were used as servants for the benefit of oblivious visitors and potential victims when they were around as a way to keep their secret concealed. I guess they needed a -'reason' as to why these two black people were 'always around' in their home. .....uhh.....yeah.....ok 🤣🤣 I agree. The whole room itself was cringe. I mean, they could have made it a bit harder for her. A 10 year old could have figured all of that out! Yeah I agree. Seeing as Hoffman had been a part of it since the first film, and knowing John like he did, there's no way he wouldn't think that one day John would test him too. Jill was John's wife, there's no way Hoffman couldn't have known that John would make sure that she was/stayed protected after his death. Unless of course, Hoffman didn't know that Gordon was also an accomplice. Was that ever specified? I can't remember 🤔. If Hoffman believed that he himself was the last man standing then it makes sense why he killed Jill as there would supposedly be no come-back. I didn't see the ending coming either, and I was like "whaaaaa....." 😳. The expression on Adam's face (Leigh Whannell) said it all - absolute disbelief, utter confusion, and deep fear. The screams from him that echoed into the credits after John shut the door haunted me for days. A brilliant ending! This was indeed meant to be a standalone movie but according to Leigh Whannel, so many people wanted to know who this guy was and why he did these things. So they decided to make a sequel and, of course, the fan base grew much bigger.....and the rest is history. With regards to the colour grading as far as the blood goes, yeah it was pink! It was pink at the cinema and still pink on streaming TV and DVD! It took away so much of the illusion. You already answered that with your first sentence - it's the trademark of the series. If you feel it doesn't need the gore plus the fact you looked away during those scenes then this is clearly not the film for you. This series has been going on for almost 20 years now with a massive fan base (mainly because if the gore); the makers are not going to change the dynamics of it now.
