Hi MissMargoChanning, glad to see you here and nice to meet you, I'm doing fine thanks! Those are some great choices! I just watched Cheaper By The Dozen recently, can never get enough of it and Clifton Webb was just amazing in it! Here are 15 of my favorites! Trouble in Paradise Rebecca West Side Story Notorious The Song of Bernadette Holiday Broken Blossoms These Three She Done Him Wrong The Best Years of Our Lives The Grapes of Wrath Psycho Make Way For Tomorrow The Crowd A Star is Born (1937) And there are so many more! I too am not really schooled in the technical aspects of film makin but I'm sure our mutual admiration of classic films will keep us and this board going for a long time!! :) Hi spiderwort, doing fine thanks! Glad to see you here as well!! I've always liked this board and hope that others will join. Can you believe it's already three months since the CFB? Time flies! Edge of the City is one of my favorites with Ritt making a fantastic film directorial debut! Yes, everyone is still trying to find their niche, several good boards out there! It'll be hard to get the old cfb crowd together again on one board but if we can run into each other every once in a while that would be great! That's great, the site seems to be moving along nicely! Hey Gubbs, It is sad. The archiving bit is fantastic but what's the point if only a few are going to post? Since it seems most of the old gang is gone, the old threads may as well be history and those of us who remain will need to move forward. Even though the show is in reruns, to get back in the swing of things it would be great if we could all post every now and then. It would help to maintain consistency and we also wouldn't forget where to post. I'll make it a point to post at least once a week, for familiarity's sake. Hope everyone can follow suit. Let's make this site work for us! I'm seeing this on other sites. It's like leaving a job that you've had for many years - initially you stay in contact but after a few days, weeks, months it subsides.. Yup, the days of the CFB and the JJ boards on IMDB are seemingly forever gone, and no amount of new forums will ever replace them. Everyone is scattered and there's no way that everyone will post on just one forum. Out of all of the forums I really like the imdbarchive board as it has archived all of the old IMDB threads and we can even reply on the older threads but surprisingly not many are posting on that forum, most likely because they don't know about it. I even added the Chrome extension from that forum so now when I go on IMDB the message boards are still on there! So for now I'll check in on this forum and the other one but it's like you said, Gubbs - nothing will ever be like IMDB again. I think most of them are lurking on this and other forums. There is also (understandably) paranoia over signing up on a new forum, not knowing who the owner of the site is or if any personal information will be obtained. I've joined several different forums using different passwords and as long as you don't enter any personal information and have web security and filtering there should be no reason to worry about hacking. tele, I'm really impressed with the CFB board on imdbarchive.com, hopefully more CFB'ers will follow us there! https://www.imdbarchive.com/board/23/ Not sure how many came over, seems like most probably just visited and left, which is a shame. It is what it is. View all replies >
