Red was the ghost of the body. I believe he was chasing Wendy to get her away from that particular cliff because that's where the bear was. When the Sheriff and Coroner arrived, they said the bear lived where she was climbing.

Like her friend said, Rosario is a romantic. Paco came on too strong and approached marriage as a business deal. He's legal and she could be too if she married him. She broke off the marriage because it wouldn't be fair to him just like it wouldn't be fair to her. The dance was a nice gesture and that she did care about him as a friend. However, he was a little looser there, more fun and even a little sexier that Rosario could see him as a potential romantic partner.
