Why did they do that? Aren't they a California corp? That sucks. Well, no reason to return. Now I wish I could get the GD IMDb app off my phone. It never worked properly anyway.
Oh damn. I wasnt really going to archive my posts because it's been years since I was super active, and those old posts were gone anyway. But I would have liked the option. Oh well, end of an era.
Also, IMDb tried to be all things to all people. It had a ton of awesome content, but it really didn't need ALL the boards it had. Maybe it just collapsed under its own weight.

I don't know, but I bet it was costly to administer the site and keep the place somewhere knowledgeable people wanted to go. I was an admin for a website that had maybe a zillionth of imdb's traffic and user complaints that really just amounted to personality conflicts were legion.
Once in a blue moon, but only if it needs big-screen viewing, like the LOTR movies. Other than that we usually wait until we can stream it or see it on cable. Too expensive, and other theatregoers can be a pain these days.
