They might not have gone into other areas of the house to realize how lovely it was, and that they wanted to buy it. Sometimes when one is very intent on something, they do it and do not look around and notice their surroundings. So, they might have gotten the dog and then left without noticing anything. However, once they stopped looking up the chimney, especially Pam, they noticed the house.

It's a good try, but everything is gone now...it's as if none of it ever existed...
I am very glad to see that some things have been archived from IMDb main site.
I am new here and having a hard time finding anything I want to read or reply to. I realize it's not the same site, but on IMDb, I would go to whatever movie or TV show I was watching, or wanted to know about, and go to the boards. Therefore, I was able to go to any program there was a page for. On a site like this, when the only things to go to are titles generated by others, I might never find what I want. For instance, if I wanted to see what people were saying about "The Uninvited (1944)", I couldn't do it, as nobody is talking about it.
Also, if I simply search the titles, it still takes forever. Thus, I come, look around, and then leave, as I don't have time to look forever. I guess I am just finding it very frustrating. I work a lot and have limited time to indulge my old movie and classic TV message reading/posting past-time, and I have used it up looking on this and other similar sites...looking for a new home.
