couldn't see a gd thing

POS was so dark I couldn't see any of the action. Very frustrating as otherwise it seemed like a fun genre film with a great 80s synth score.

Yeah the Director of Photography did a terrible job. I know they wanted to go "dark and brooding" like a John Carpenter film, but forgot that means lighting things at least a little bit. It certainly needed to be more vivid in terms of color and contrast (think like ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, DEMONS, or SUSPIRIA) but the overall film was just so muddy and bland looking that it killed any kind of 80's retro kitsch appeal. I think it all just comes down to laziness/incompetence/"fix it in post" mentality/budget/speed. Taking time to light things properly requires a lot of grips meticulously rigging flags and gels everywhere and I think this movie was just concerned with doing what they could on a low budget which they almost entirely spent on the actors' salaries.

A shame because it seemed like it had a lot going for it, probably.
