Exactly! I can't believe how easy courts hand over guardianship to strangers. This same, exact thing happened to my in-laws. The judge, doctor and all the attorneys involved were in on it. My husband was refused at the nursing home where his dad was placed. The guardian ad litems were two crooked attorneys who ended up stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars. We finally had to hire an attorney from Houston who created a shit storm for these guardians and threatened to expose them to the media, etc. The judge finally canceled the guardianship and allowed the poor man to come home. It was nightmarish! This happened in a very corrupt border town and till this day, that same judge is sitting on the bench, most likely doing the same thing with his attorneys. It happens all the time! The best thing to do is to make sure you have your affairs in order!
