Refreshing
I Still Believe is a powerful, sweet, heartbreaking, and ultimately uplifting movie. The gospel message is woven throughout, yet it always feels natural, rather than bludgeoning. It’s refreshing to see a movie that takes time to let us get to know the characters, rather than simply rushing from one dramatic scene to the next. The love and loss of this true story didn’t need to be sensationalized, and it’s to the filmmakers credit that they let the core story drive the narrative.
One point that needs mentioning is how far faith-based films have come in just a few short years! I Still Believe looks as good as anything coming out of Hollywood. The cinematography, lighting, sound, set designs, etc., are top notch. All the actors were well chosen, too. I especially enjoyed seeing Gary Sinise in a small, but effective role as Jeremy Camp’s father. His soliloquy near the end is pitch perfect
My wife and I both loved it and would highly recommend it. Take a tissue with you.
