Sure, there's lots of footage but so what? If there was lots of footage of Elvis taking a shit, you wouldn't use it all.
The point is to cut it down to an entertaining narrative.
Three hours would have suffficed.

Yeah it’s like Howard Stern said. He loved it, but objectively speaking it’s a horrible movie because of how long it is.

shareI watched it in the evenings for an hour at a time over the course of a week or so. Loved every second of it and felt myself really looking forward to it during the day. It was wonderful to pour a beer and sit back and spend an hour with these guys every night. I might go back and do it again, actually.

too much footage, and a lot could've been cut to get the same effect.

I'm loving it so far, but I'm a musician and trained audio engineer...I can totally see how someone who isn't themselves in a band or a rabid Beatles fan could find it a bit much!
